AfDB Fuels Kenya's Agricultural Revolution with $10.15mn Investment

1 May 2024

The African Development Bank (AfDB) is injecting US$10.15mn into the Africa Fertiliser Financing Mechanism, alongside providing a US$2mn partial trade credit guarantee and a grant of nearly US$220,000 to Kenyan firm Apollo. This significant investment aims to enhance agricultural productivity and food security in the region.

Apollo's digital platform, supported by AfDB, will distribute up to 8,000 tons of fertiliser to 100,000 farmers over the next two years. This initiative aligns with Kenya's Vision 2030 strategy, signaling a promising future for the country's agricultural sector.
