Finance Vice-President at EBID
Dr Mabouba DIAGNE
Dr Mabouba Diagne took office on July 15, 2020 at the ECOWAS Bank for Investment and Development (EBID) as Vice President in charge of Finance and Institutional Services. He is an experienced international investment and development banker who has held various executive level responsibilities for over twenty (20) years in several parts of Africa. He holds a PhD in Financial Management and Portfolio Optimization from the University of Kaiserautern in Germany, a master's degree in financial mathematics from the same university, and a master's degree in applied mathematics and computer science from Gaston Berger University, Senegal. He also holds a postgraduate degree from the United Nations Professor Abdou Salam International Center for Theoretical Physics, Trieste, Italy, etc.
Prior to his appointment at EBID, he was previously the Regional Director of Trade & Development Bank at Kenya, where he was responsible for covering and leading transactions in Mauritius, Comoros, Seychelles, Democratic Republic of Congo, Madagascar, Sudan, South Sudan, Mozambique and Angola.
Dr Mabouba Diagne had also occupied the position of Director of Credit Assessment Control at Dresdner Bank London and Credit Suisse London, Regional Managing Director and Group Head of Corporate and Investment Banking at Atlas Mara, Banc ABC, Johannesburg ( South Africa), while covering Zambia, Botswana, Mozambique, Tanzania and Rwanda.
In addition, he had also worked at Barclays Bank in South Africa, as general manager and regional director of Corporate Coverage Southern (Zambia, Botswana, Mozambique, Zimbabwe, Mauritius, Seychelles).
During his career, Dr Mabouba Diagne has established an extensive network of professional relations with many African countries and with the main regional and international financial institutions in several countries of the continent. Dr Mabouba Diagne is fluent in English, French, German, Italian and Senegalese Wolof.
